vaccinations
For the most current information about recommended vaccinations, visit the CDC’s website.
Please make an appointment with your general practitioner, or your local travel clinic, as soon as possible to schedule your required vaccinations for traveling to Uganda.
Note: Every traveler must have an International Vaccination Record. This is a yellow card obtained from the medical professional providing you with the vaccine. It serves as proof that you have received the vaccination. You will be asked to present this at immigration.

COVID-19: This vaccine is encouraged but not currently required at the airport.
Hepatitis A: CDC recommends this vaccine because you can get hepatitis A through contaminated food or water in Uganda, regardless of where you are eating or staying.
Malaria: You will need to take prescription medicine before, during, and after your trip to prevent malaria. Your doctor can help you decide which medicine is right for you, and talk to you about other steps you can take to prevent malaria.
Typhoid: You can get typhoid through contaminated food or water in Uganda. CDC recommends this vaccine for most travelers, especially if you are staying with friends or relatives, visiting smaller cities or rural areas, or if you are an adventurous eater.
Yellow Fever: Yellow fever is a risk in Uganda, so CDC recommends this vaccine for all travelers who are 9 months of age or older. Country entry requirement: Required for arriving travelers from all countries. Also, proof of yellow fever vaccination required of all travelers leaving Uganda.
